Fight Cavities, With Chocolate

Japan, England and the United States have all done recent studies that show that dark chocolate helps fight tooth decay!

Before you run to the store for your celebratory dose of chocolate, let’s look at the facts. First of all, we’re talking about dark chocolate, not milky sweet chocolate that is loaded with sugar and other yummy ingredients.

It’s the sugar in sweet foods that cause tooth decay when the bacteria in our mouths turn the sugar into acids. Sure chocolate has loads of sugar in it, but it also contains compounds that have an anti-bacterial effect and fight the bacteria in plaque.
