How to Lower Your Electric Bill
Posted by Guarantee Green Team on August 3rd, 2012Summer is a great time of year, but it’s tough on your electricity bills. Turning off the air conditioning isn’t really an option in this heat, but there are plenty of ways to cut down your power usage.
Take a moment to unplug devices that you aren’t using. Even when things are turned off small amounts of electricity continue to go into them, so taking a moment to unplug it from the wall can add up to a lot when you’re talking about a household of appliances.
Power off any electronics that you’re done using. Computers, gaming consoles and stereos all continue to use energy even when they’re in standby mode.
Turn off screen savers on computers and laptops to cut down power usage. Also, turning down the brightness on your electronics saves electricity and by doing so also extends battery life.
These all might seem like small things, but combined you’ll see a nice drop in your electricity bills.
