Latkes, Lox and Cream Cheese

Posted by on December 4th, 2012

Hanukkah Latke | Guarantee Green BlogLatkes, also known as potato pancakes, are a delicious Hanuukah specialty. Latkes are traditionally eaten with sour cream or applesauce, however this year we have a twist on the traditional latke that will excite your guests and please your taste buds.

Start by making traditional latkes following your favorite recipe. If you don’t have one, here’s an easy to follow and tasty recipe from allrecipes.com.

Once your latkes are done, let them cool for a few minutes on a paper towel. This soaks up the excess grease and makes it easier to make the sandwiches.

On one side of the latke spread a thick layer of cream cheese and top with smoked salmon. Close off your latke sandwich with another latke and you’re ready to eat!

To serve latke, lox and cream cheese appetizers, cut the latke sandwich into eights, and place a toothpick through the sandwich to hold it together.

This delicious twist on a classic Hanukkah dish is sure to be a hit at any holiday party, or in the comfor of your kitchen.

Happy Holidays.
